A bulkhead or adapter is only as serviceable as the nut you can put a wrench on. When hex nuts are bought from a separate source than the fitting, thread class and plating thickness drift. For OEM programs we prefer to quote mating hardware with the fitting print.
See fasteners alongside bulkhead fittings when your stack is custom.
What must match
- Thread standard and acceptance gauges
- Material pair and finish strategy
- Wrench size vs field tools
- Prevailing torque or locking features if required

Frequently asked questions
01Can nuts be stainless while fittings are plated carbon?
Yes. We quote each line on its material and mention galvanic or lubrication notes when relevant.
02Do special hex sizes raise cost?
Non-standard across-flats often push parts toward CNC instead of heading. Flag the wrench requirement early.
